Corrections Policy

Our commitment to accuracy

We want the advice on this site to hold up in your garden, not just on the page. Growing conditions vary, science moves, and even careful writing can carry a mistake. When we get something wrong, we fix it, and we tell you what changed.

How to report a suspected error

If you spot something that looks off, let us know through the contact form on this site. The more specific you can be, the faster we can act. When you write in, it helps to include:

  • The article title or link where you saw the issue
  • The exact sentence, figure, or claim in question
  • What you believe is correct, and why, if you have a source or firsthand experience

You do not need to be an expert to flag something. A plain note that “this timing seems wrong for my region” is genuinely useful.

How we review and respond

We read every correction request. When one comes in, we check the claim against reliable sources and our own testing, and we weigh how much it affects the guidance. If a change is warranted, we make it. If the original stands, we will usually explain why. Simple typos and broken links get fixed quietly and quickly.

How we note corrections

For minor edits, such as spelling or formatting, we update the article without a formal note. For a material correction, one that changes the meaning, a recommendation, or a fact you might act on, we update the article and add a dated correction note so the change is visible and honest.

Keeping evergreen articles current

Most of our guides are meant to last, so we review them on a regular cycle. During each review we refresh timing, sources, and recommendations to reflect what we have learned since publishing. If a refresh includes a material correction, we note it the same way.
